Former Education Minister, Dr. Mustafa Luthfee has said that the rights of the majority cannot be violated to protect the rights of a few people.
He made this remark speaking at yesterday night’s public rally of the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement.
Dr. Mustafa said that they are holding protests on behalf of the majority of the people to protect the constitution and to uphold it. And it is not plausible to stop them and violate the rights of the majority people with the excuse that they are disturbing the people who working and driving on the streets.
The police arrested a female protester during last night’s protest.
Some local medias reports that some police officers who dispersed the crowd did not have their name tags on their uniforms.
