We want to celebrate May Day as a day that govt tyranny comes to an end- Sameer
Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer has said that the people wants to celebrate May Day as a day that the rights of the people are granted and the government tyranny comes to an end.

Sameer made this remark speaking at last night’s rally of the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement.

He said that the work against oppression is a tiresome and burdensome job but the people will continue to stand up against tyranny.

“This is the work that will protect the Islamic unity and moral values in the Maldives for the next generations to come,” he said.

Sameer said that it is also very worrying that religious scholars have said that the state of affairs of Maldives has gone so worse that a punishment of Allah is imminent.

“Our top priority today should be to save our nation from this state it is today. The nation cannot be governed if there is no justice,” he said.
