Dr. Hussein Rasheed has said that the government is feeling threatened by Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim because of his continuous works to protect and preserve the constitution.
Dr. Hussein said that Gasim Ibrahim is a person who works to preserve and uphold the constitution and even spends from his own pockets for this cause.
“He is a firm believer of working within the constitutional framework of the country. He has made and is continuing to make many sacrifices for this cause to uphold the constitution,” he said.
However, he said that the government of today is not a government which wants to respect and uphold the constitution. Therefore the government is scared of everyone who stands up to defend and uphold the constitution.
Dr. Hussein said that the government dismissed Chief Justice and Supreme Court judges to intimidate all other judges and to force them to issue verdicts according to the whims of the government.
