The Imam has called not to let the hatred of others to make oneself swerve to wrong and depart from justice.
The Imam made this appeal during the Friday sermon given at Masjid Muhammad Thakufurufanu.
“Justice is the only right that is absolute. There are no exceptions to it. It is the right of everybody to be treated justly and everyone's duty to be just. Justice is the right of relatives and strangers. It is the right of the rich and the poor. It is the right of friend and foe. It is the right of people who share one's religion and of those who disbelieve in it. It is everyone's right in times of war just as much as it is in times of peace. Allah says: ‘O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do’,” he said.
The Imam also said that the Prophet said: “Judges are of three types, two of them will go to the Hellfire and one type will go to Paradise. The one who knows the truth and judges with it – he is in Paradise. One who knows the truth but doesn’t judge by it, will go to Hellfire. The one who doesn’t know the truth and judges between people with ignorance, will go to the Hellfire.
He said that this verse proves that the power of judgement is for Allah alone and the judges should issue verdicts based on the Shariah.
The Imam said that justice is necessitated by nothing other than our shared humanity. He added that justice is the greatest means of ensuring human dignity and human rights.
He said that justice is not something that exists only in the courtroom. He said that it is not something only judges decide. It is the way we as people should conduct ourselves with each other in the course of our daily lives.
In addition to this, the Imam said that the Messenger of Allah cursed both the briber and the bribed person.
He said that if bribery spreads throughout a society, it will undoubtedly be corrupt and doomed to destruction.
