President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom and Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed have donated their one months salary for Gaz fund.
This was announced by the President Office’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Muaz. Following the ceremony held at Muleeage to handover the gift T-Shirt to the President and the First Lady, Muaz said that the President has not been taking the full salary since his inception as the President and he has been only taking half of it.
The salary of the President is MVR 100000. However, Muaz said that the President decided to donate his full salary to the Gaza fund.
The salary of the Vice President is MVR 75000 and it has been handed over to the Fund raisers.
Muaz said that the First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim will also donate to the Gaza fund. However the amount she will be donating was not revealed.
