Opposition parties have stated that they will not stop supplicating to Allah to lift the oppression of the government regardless the government declaring it an act of terrorism.
A top activist of the opposition, Sobah Rasheed said that all should supplicate and work to lift the tyranny of the current government.
“Friday is a day that Muslims increase in their supplication. We will continue supplicating to Allah to lift this oppression. We will not stop this,” he said.
Many people gathered at the Islamic Center after the Friday prayers to supplicate for a safe passage from the tyranny and dictatorship of the current administration of Maldives.
Home Minister said that the gathering at the Islamic Center is politically motivated. He said that such congregational supplications cannot be held without prior consent from the Islamic Ministry.
He said that they should supplicate not less than 50 feet away from mosques.
Following the comments of the Home Minister, Umar Naseer, the Police tried to disperse the crowd gathered at the premises of the Islamic Center.
