Telethon held since Friday to collect funds to aid the oppressed people of Palestine who are under attack by the Jewish occupation has been concluded last night at 3:00 hrs.
The chairman of the steering committee, Ibrahim Umar Manik said that the event was a huge success. He said that the total funds collected was more than 20 million and 6.3 million Ruffiya through Adhaalath Party fund.
He expressed hopes that this amount will increase before sending the money.
Manik said that this is the most successful telethon ever held in Maldives. He said that this telethon has broken record of all previous telethons.
Mohamed Asim “Mondhu” said that the Help Gaza Telethon has been a ground breaking telethon which will make history.
The Steering Committee said that there are 40 more donation boxes which has not been calculated yet.
The committee stated that the works to send the money to Gaza will soon be commenced.
