Ameen Ibrahim, the deputy leader of the Jumhooree Party has appealed all people to do everything possible to stop the oppression against Jumhooee Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim.
He made this remark at the press conference of the steering committee of the “Against Oppression” movement held at Salt Restaurant.
Ameen said that the oppression against Gasim Ibrahim, Mohamed Nasheed and Mohamed Nazim are a representation of the oppression of the government against the people.
“When the oppression reaches throughout Maldives then who will help the people?,” he asked.
In addition to this, Ameen raised alarm regarding the increase in murders in Maldives. He said that killings have increased to a frightening level.
He said that foreign labourers also are now living in terror. He said that they are also being killed. He said that terror has not spread in the local community but also to the expatriate community in Maldives.
