Tagging and monitoring criminals will help curb crime rate- Umar Naseer
Minister of Home Affairs, Umar Naseer has said that tagging and monitoring criminals will help curb crime rate.

Umar Naseer stated in a tweet that “Today govt has decided to send MoniCon Bill 2015, to the parliment. Govt is determined to bring an end to gang violence.”

Minister Umar had previously stated that with the introduction of the `MoniCon Notice’ (Monitor and Control Notice), it will allow them to temporarily retain and control the offender without having them under arrest or releasing them into society.

He underscored the importance of implementing such a regulation. He said that the offenders are released into society as they wait for their court hearings which usually takes a long time.

The Minister stated that MoniCon notice will be introduced under the laws which were made in 2010 regarding gangs and possession of weaponry.

“Govt is working on a temporary law, now named as 'MoniCon Notice' that will revolutionise crime fight,” he said.

Moreover, he stated that the implementation of the law will bring about great changes, leading to a more peaceful revolution.
