Ibrahim Hussein appeals to cut off all that leads to corruption
Thoddoo constituency MP, Ibrahim Hussein has made an appeal to government leaders to cut off everything that leads to corruption.

He made this remark speaking at the plenary debate which was carried out for the Bill on Amendment to the Anti-Corruption Act, submitted on behalf of the Government by Asma Rasheed, MP for Maafannu-Central constituency.

“Nations fall with the prevalence of corruption and bribery. Now corruption is on the rise in Maldives,” he said.

He said that depriving the rights of a person taking advantage of one’s position and power is also from corruption.

Ibrahim Hussein also noted that the Anti-Corruption Act needs to be amended altogether.

“There are many definitions to corruption. There many ways that corruption is committed. Some do it using their authority and power. Therefore, I appeal the government, the state to study this bill in detail and make all amendments necessary,” he said.
