The senior management of the Maldives Islamic College, Kulliyathul Dhiraasathul Islamiyya has met with Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed on Sunday, 15th March 2015 at Police Headquarters and held discussions with regard to strengthening relations and increasing corporation between the two institutions in academic areas.
The meeting which took place in the interest of Kulliyathul Dhiraasathul Islamiyya was accompanied by the senior officials of Kulliyathul Dhiraasathul Islamiyya and senior officers of Maldives Police Service.
In this meeting, the president of the college Council, Dr Ahmed Shareef, highlighted the importance of working in partnership with MPS and Kulliyya and providing assistances to the community programs run by MPS to maintain public safety and stability.
The Rector of the college, Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa noted the importance of increasing understanding between the two institutions and facilitating easy arrangements for the police officers to take part in the academic courses from Kulliyya.
In this meeting Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed stated that education has always being a number one priority in the senior leadership of MPS and informed about various training programs and academic courses conducted by the Institute of Security and Law Enforcement Studies. Commissioner also thanked the College Council and senior officials of the College for the initiative and highlighted the importance of corporation between various sectors of the community
