At the Twentieth Sitting of the Second Session held yesterday, the Majlis went into Whole House Committee, for consideration of the Bill on Amendment to the Goods & Services Tax, submitted on behalf of the Government by Hon. Ahmed Rasheed, MP for Gahdhoo constituency.
During the deliberations, the deadline for completion of work for the Bill was finalized as 22 August 2014, and the Bill was sent to the Committee on Economic Affairs for further review.
Additionally, the Whole House Committee endorsed the Standing Orders of the Whole House Committee of the 17th People’s Majlis, as the Standing Orders for the current Whole House Committee.
The People’s Majlis will next meet on 11 August 2014, Monday at 0900hrs.
