50 witnesses have been presented to the court on behalf of the Former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim.
Among the witnesses include the President of Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Home Minister Umar Naseer, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed, Galolhu Dhekunu MP Ahmed Mahloof and heads of departments of Police and others.
Whenprovided a total of 50 individuals to be brought in to testify as witnesses, the judge bench stated that some of them maybe omitted if they find it suitable to. They added that the defense lawyers would be given the chance to question prosecution's witnesses during the next hearing as well.
