Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has held protests yesterday at sea and on land calling for the release of political prisoners.
In this regard, MDP protestors held a boat protest at sea. The protestors went by boat near Dhoonidhoo where former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Defense Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim are held.
Some of the protestors appealed the authorities to immediately release former President Nasheed and Former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Nazim and other political prisoners.
Police stated that no one was arrested during the protest.
In addition to this, protests were held in Male’ and in the islands as well calling for the release of the political prisoners.
