Majlis accepts Bill on Amendments to the Human Rights Commission Act
At the Nineteenth Sitting of the Second Session of the People’s Majlis held yesterday, the Bill on Amendments to the Human Rights Commission Act (6/2006) was accepted for consideration with 62 votes. One MP voted against and there were 5 abstentions.

The Bill was sent to the Committee on Independent Institutions for review.

The First Reading of the Bill was held on 17 June 2014, at the Third Sitting of the Second Session of the People’s Majlis. It was tabled on behalf of the Government by Hon. Jaufar Daoud, MP for Un’goofaaru.

The People’s Majlis will meet again on 6 August 2014, at 0900 hrs.
