Kendhoo constituency MP, Ali Hussain has stated that there should be no salary discrimination with the implementation of the green constitution.
Ali Hussain made this remark at the Nineteenth Sitting of the Second Session of the People’s Majlis held yesterday, commenting on the Bill on Amendments to the Civil Service Act (Act No. 5/2007).
Ali Hussain said that there are two aspects to the Civil Service Act and the first and foremost is the issue with regards to the rights of the Civil Servants.
“Many have spoken on this. Many have spoken on their rights to participate in political activities and political parties. I am thinking, have we ever thought about the rights that should be granted to the civil servants with the implementation of the Green Constitution? What have we done to remove the discriminations? I believe that the Civil Servants have been ignored even after the implementation of the Green Constitution,” he said.
Ali Hussain said that the majority of the civil servants are living on rent but there are many discriminations regarding them.
He said that these civil servants are not given the rights to accommodation and food while foreign teachers and other employees are provided these rights.
Ali Hussain said that these discriminations in allocating allowances and salaries should be removed.
