Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party has said that the leader of the party, Gasim Ibrahim will never give preference to personal interests over national interests and interests of the people.
Ameen Ibrahim made this remark at the press conference held after the joint meeting of Jumhooree Party and MDP at Kunooz. He said that when Ahmed Adheeb said to Gasim that the age limit to Presidential candidate bill will be revoked at the meeting held with Champa Ahmed Moosa, Gasim told him that he is not worried regarding that bill.
Ameen said that that Gasim Ibrahim stated that he is not concerned and worried regarding the age limit that the government was trying to impose.
“He told him that he is not worried that he cannot run in the election. He said that if he cannot run for Presidency then another candidate from Jumhooree Party will run in the election,” he said.
The Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party said that Gasim Ibrahim is more concerned regarding the state of the nation and the concerns of the people. He said that he is pleading for the rights of the people.
Gasim appeals the authorities to release former President Mohamed Nasheed, Former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim and Medhu henveiru constituency MP Ali Azim.
Ameen said that regardless what the opponents claim, Gasim Ibrahim will never make any decision that will bring harm to the people. He said that Gasim will not betray his agreements.
