Former Minister of Health, Dr. Mariyam Shakeela has said that it is important for the goevrnment to listen to the people and take responsibility.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Dr. Shakeela said that she is very concerned regarding the current situation of Maldives. She said that she hopes that the leaders will take thoughtful and responsible steps to resolve the problems faced by the people.
“If the responsibilities of the authority were to be taken then would we have seen this unrest in the country that we are seeing today?,” she asked.
Dr. Shakeela was the Environment Minister of President Dr. Mohamed Waheed’s government and the former Health Minister and Former Health and Gender Minister of the current government.
