Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam has said that the MNDF has provided Maldives Police Service with weapons requested by Police to conduct police operations.
He made this remark in a meeting held with Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed.
The two discussed to remain steadfast in doing what is necessary to ensure the peace and stability of the Maldivian nation.
Major General Shiyam and Commissioner Hussein Waheed also discussed regarding the works by both the MNDF and Police in this regard.
Chief of Defence Force underscored the importance of strengthening the joint efforts of MNDF and the Police to safeguard the stability in the society.
Maldives Police Service conducted exercises to prepare police to maintain security during the mass gathering organized by Jumhooree Party and Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Friday.
