Charges pressed against Nazim’s wife withdrawn
The charges pressed against Afaaf Abdul Majeed, the wife of former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim has been withdrawn by the Prosecutor General.

Criminal Court scheduled the first hearing of the case made against Nazim and his wife, Afaaf Abdul Majeed, on charges of possession of banned weapons from their residence, G. Enif for 4:00 pm on Wednesday.

The charges were withdrawn by the state. The state attorney Adam Arif stated that the state decided to withdraw the charges after investigating the information found on the pen drive confiscated by the Police from Nazim’s residence. The attorney said that the state thus concluded that Afaaf has no connection to the weapons confiscated from their apartment.

State Attorney Arif did not disclose any further details.

Leading attorney of the legal team of Nazim, Maumoon Hameed said that the state should accept that there is no basis to charge Nazim as they accepted that there is no basis to charge his wife.
