Galolhu Dhekunu constituency MP, Ahmed Mahloof has said that it is impossible to win any election held in Maldives without the support of the leader of the Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim.
Mahloof said that it was Gasim’s support which was the reason for the victory of PPM in the 2013 Presidential Election.
He said that DRP failed in the 2008 Presidential Election because they did not have the support of the Jumhooree Party leader.
The Galolhu Dhekunu MP further said that it was Nihan and himself who worked to gain support of Gasim during the 2013 election taking lesson from the previous election. He said that they used to beg Gasim to support PPM.
He said that PPM should thank Gasim instead of oppressing him. He said that PPM should have given all their votes for Gasim to be the Speaker of the Peoples’ Majlis.
Mahloof said that PPM did the mere opposite and wronged the one who was the reason for their success in the election.
He said that PPM should have thought about the next Presidential Election and that it will be impossible for them to win the election without his support.
