President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended the deadline given to evacuate the G block of old Jamaludheen School building until the end of the first semester.
Spokesperson of the President's Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali said that President Abdulla Yameen had decided to extend the deadline given to Maldives National University to vacate the old faculty since it may disrupt the studies of the students of the university.
Therefore the block should be evacuated during the recess of the first semester which falls within June 4 to 14.
Housing Minister Dr. Muizz revealed that multiple surveys of the old building showed that it was not fit for students to study in.
The Minister said that old Jamaludeen School building is too old to be used and the building will not be used for any government institution without rebuilding it.
