Imams Association has stated that Imams have not been getting their wages regularly since they came under the Islamic Ministry’s authority.
In a press release, the Imams Association called all responsible authorities to find a solution to this problem.
The Islamic Ministry stated that the Imams did not get their wages because of an administrative mistake and the matter will be resolved soon.
The association also raised concern regarding the lack of responsibility shown by the Islamic Ministry towards the maintenance of mosques of Male’ and the Imams.
Imams and the maintenance of mosques were changed to the Islamic Ministry on 16th January.
