Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party (JP), Ahmed Sameer has said that the government is very likely to oppress the people in a wide scale.
He made this remark speaking at the public rally of MDP and JP held on Friday night.
Sameer said that the government has already started this. He said that the leaders of the current government are known for their tradition of oppressing the people even during their former government.
Sameer said that the current government oppressed even those who campaigned for President Yameen during the election and are the main reason for his success in the election.
During the speech, the Secretary General of JP also called the authorities to withdraw the charges against former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Sameer also noted that the government has stopped spending on the Vice President Dr. Jameel. He said that it is shameful that the government stopped spending on the Vice President of the country.
