Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim has called the authorities to release former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim from custody.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark speaking at the “Maldivians in defence of the Constitution” rally held last night at the Jumhooree Maalan.
Gasim Ibrahim said that they have arrested the Minister too late since the Police claims that the investigation has been concluded.
“When wrong upon wrong is done then it will be the wrong doers who will be exposed. I am asking them to stop these kinds of acts. These are just absurd,” he said.
The Jumhooree Party leader said that the people do not accept how the Police has conducted the search nor do they accept that Nazim should remain in custody.
He said that today the people are living in fear and safety and security is not guaranteed for anyone today as Nazim stated.
He called all institutions to respect and uphold the rule of the constitution.
