Legal team of former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim has stated that the fact that Police arrested Nazim while they concluded the investigation regarding the weapons found in the residence of Nazim’s wife raises many questions.
According to Vmedia, Nazim’s attorney Maumoon Hameed said that Police had informed the legal team that Nazim would be taken to Dhoonidhoo after being apprehended, however they had informed that the legal team would not be able to accompany Nazim to Dhoonidhoo.
He said that the police informed that no work on Nazim's case would be conducted during the night of arrest and that no interviews regarding the case would be taken either.
However Vmedia quoted Maumoon saying that if the investigation of the case had concluded, Police and the PG should share the details of the case with him.
Maumoon noted that the details need to be shared since the charges being pressed against Nazim are serious while adding that the whole state is closely monitoring the case.
