President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that he will always stand against oppression.
Sheikh Imran made this remark in tweet. He said that “Oppression will be oppression regardless of who the perpetrator is and whether it is President Nasheed or President Yameen.”
Meanwhile, the government took back three uninhabited islands leased to Villa Group’s companies whose founder is Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim.
Villa Group Chairman, Gasim Ibrahim said these islands were given as compensation for some land plots taken back by the government while Villa Group have paid millions of dollars to the government.
He said that this is an oppression perpetrated by the government against him. He said that he believes that the government will go even beyond that to intimidate him.
Adhaalath Party leader, Sheikh Imran also condemned the attack on the equipments of VTV during their live coverage of the joint meeting of the Jumhooree Party and MDP.
