Jumhooree Party’s national steering committee has decided to work with opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to defend and uphold the constitution.
Deputy leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim told the media following the meeting of the National Steering Committee of the party, the Jumhooree Party made very important decisions last night.
Ameen said that the decision to work with MDP was not based on assumptions of what might happen in the future but the decision was to work with MDP only to protect and defend the constitution. He said that the agreement does not go beyond that.
“This is not a coalition. This is just an agreement to work with and cooperate with MDP to uphold and defend the constitution,” he said.
The Deputy leader of the Jumhooree Party added that the signing ceremony of this agreement will be held tonight.
