Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim has said that it is ironic that the government thinks that the Maldivians are gullible fools.
Speaking to the media lastnight at the Jumhooree Maalam at M. Kunooz, Gasim Ibrahim said that the people are aware of the lies spread by the ruling PPM regarding him.
“Those who even made those lies know clearly that they are themselves lying. I wonder if they really think that the people of Maldives are gullible fools who will believe everything they say,” he said.
Gasim said that he cannot imagine how PPM has stooped to such a low level. “Perhaps it is because of their fanaticism. I wonder how the state of those who slandered me are,” he said.
Gasim said that he is a person who advocates for the rights of the people and has always been proclaiming the truth.
Gasim said that defining an age limit of the Presidential candidate and also stipulating the condition that a former President who resigned from office cannot run for Presidency are personal attacks.
He said that political rivalry should not make one forget justice and it should not lead to personal attacks.
