Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that the new cabinet of the Saudi’s new king Salman has many friends of Maldives.
Dr. Shaheem noted that Maldives has been getting a lot of assistance from the Saudi government that has been never witnessed in recent history.
In this regard, he said that the Saudi’s WAMY and even some individual citizens of Saudi have also been providing help.
According to BBC, King Salman of Saudi Arabia announced a major cabinet reshuffle, a week after he acceded to the throne.
The chief of intelligence and the head of the national security council have both been replaced.
Other top officials, including the ministers of defence, oil, and foreign affairs, have kept their jobs.
The governor of Mecca and the governor of the capital Riyadh were replaced as were several senior religious officials.
