Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the Jumhooree Party, Abdulla Riyaz has said that the Jumhooree Party will cooperate if amendments are brought to real issues in the constitution after researching those issues.
Abdulla Riyaz made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at M. Kunooz yesterday to mark the joining of many new members to the party.
He said that what is done today is that instead of amending the constitution they add to it and change the constitution according to their whims. He said that the Jumhooree Party will not accept this.
Abdulla Riyaz said that the Jumhooree Party will cooperate with any party if it is to truly amend and correct the real issues in the constitution after researching those issues.
He said that the Jumhooree Party will do everything the party can against the PPM’s amendment to the constitution to define a maximum age of Presidential candidates.
“This amendment was submitted directly against the Jumhooree Party. We will do everything we can to fail it,” he said.
