Jumhooree Party leader and Maamigili MP, Gasim Ibrahim has always advocated to pass the state budget and considered it an obligation on the members, says the party’s Secretary General Ahmed Sameer.
Sameer said that this reality is accepted by all members of the Majlis as Gasim Ibrahim has proved this from his statements and actions in the past.
Sameer said that even this time Gasim Ibrahim and all the members of the Jumhooree Party in the Majlis revealed that they will vote to pass the budget.
“They did reveal the problems they found in the budget. It is a responsibility to point out the mistakes as Majlis members,” he said.
Sameer made this remark in view of the allegations of the Feydhoo constituency MP Ibrahim Didi on DhiTV that Gasim Ibrahim voted to pass the budget when he was told that two uninhabited islands will be given to him from Male’ Atoll.
Sameer said that this slander by the Feydhoo MP is against the oath taken by the Majlis members. He said that Didi used to work in Villa Resorts and he should consider his own records.
Sameer said that it is very irresponsible of any member to make such big accusation just to please the ruling party leaders and leaders of the government.
