Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that in Islam there is neither harming nor reciprocating harm.
Dr. Shaheem made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at the Islamic Center to mark the anniversary of the Maldives adherence to Islam.
Dr. Shaheem said that the religion of Islam protects the rights of all people including people with disabilities. In addition to this, Islam also forbids harming and inflicting damage on animals without due right.
The Minister said that Islam is now the fastest growing religion in the world and has been captivating the hearts of many.
“Many are accepting Islam as their own choice,” he noted.
Dr. Shaheem said Islam is not only a spiritual religion but is also a practical religion of which the main focus is unity of worship.
The Minister said that the Muslim youth should not be involved in terrorism and should not support it. He said that Islam does not condone such acts and they do not bring any benefit to the religion whatsoever.
