Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer, has said that the state Attorney General should issue a statement regarding the concerns of the people on the changes brought to the constitution.
Sameer said that the State Attorney General is not the Attorney General of the state alone but he is the Attorney General of the people as well.
“Therefore when the people or other than them raise their concern regarding the laws and the constitution then it is important for the Attorney General to issue his statement regarding this,” he said.
Sameer said that all former Attorney Generals issued their statements in similar cases in the past. He said that he hopes that he current Attorney General also will make his statement regarding the matter.
Sameer said that Anil, the current Attorney General is a very competent person for the post. “He has even been a member of the Special Majlis. He is very competent for the post,” he said.
