President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that the State Trading Organization (STO) is a company with a proud history of services to the nation.
President Yameen made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at Dharubaaruge to mark the 50th anniversary of STO.
The President said that companies such as STO should invest in that which will benefit. He said that Allied Insurance, Maldive Gas and Fuel Supply like companies are companies which truly benefit from the companies invested by the STO.
President stated that STO has made investments during the four that the company has never done before and in this regard the President noted the Airport in Fuvahmulah and the Office complex in Hulumeedhoo.
The President expressed his desire to make STO one of the most successful companies in the region and also in Maldives.
He said that he undertstands that the businesses of the company should be further expanded for this.
