Transport Authority has revealed that they will be holding discussions with taxi centers to cut down the price of taxi charge following the reduction in the oil prices.
Taxi charges were increased when the oil price reached MVR 16 per liter and within the last two months the oil price has now gone down to MVR 10 per liter.
Chairman of the Transport Authority, Abdul Rasheed Nafiz stated that taxi and other transport charges were increased when the oil prices spiked in the market.
He said that it is now important to lower the taxi, pickup and lorry charges with the reduction in the oil price in the market.
