President Completes Visit to 14 Islands in North Miladhunmadulu Atoll — Major Development Projects, Budget Boosts, and Key Announcements Across the Region

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé after completing a comprehensive visit to 14 inhabited islands of North Miladhunmadulu Atoll, during which he launched several new projects, met with island communities, and made a series of major policy announcements.

During the tour, the President visited Kan'ditheemu, Noomaraa, Goidhoo, Feydhoo, Feevah, Bileiyfahi, Foakaidhoo, Milandhoo, Narudhoo, Maroshi, Lhaimagu, Funadhoo, Komandoo, and Maaun’goodhoo, accompanied by Cabinet ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises.

He reaffirmed his Government’s commitment to sustainable development, decentralisation, and citizen-centric governance, while announcing new projects in health, education, housing, fisheries, and infrastructure across the atoll.

Nationally, the President announced two landmark measures:

  • Allocation of MVR 500 million each for the health and education sectors in the 2026 State Budget.
  • Launch of modern digital payment services, including PayPal, for Maldivians.

He also pledged to revive stalled waste management centres across northern islands and accelerate the implementation of key projects under the population consolidation policy.


Kan'ditheemu
