Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer has said that the leader of the Jumhooree Party Gasim Ibrahim is the most beloved leader of the pople.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Ahmed Sameer said that hundreds of people immediately gathered infront of the residence of Gasim Ibraihim in defence of him to protest against the Police who were reported in the media to have requested for a search warrant from the criminal court to search Gasim’s residence.
He said that this shows the status of Gasim Ibrahim in the hearts of the people of Maldives.
“As soon as we got the news we went there. And we saw that hundreds of people were already there to raise their concern,” he said.
In view of the denial of such a warrant by Maldives Police Service, Ahmed Sameer said that the people cannot be deceived regarding who Gasim Ibrahim is regardless of the efforts to assassinate his character.
“The people always believe that Gasim Ibrahim is the friend of the fishermen. He meets even the poorest person and helps them,” he said.
