Maldives Police Service has revealed that they are not going to be conducting a search operation at the residence of Gasim Ibrahim, Maafannuvilla.
In a press release issued yesterday afternoon, Maldives Police Service released that the reports that a court warrant was issued to search Maafannuvilla is false and there is no truth to it.
It is noted that the first to report that Police will be conducting a search of Maafannuvilla were some online news websites who have been usually reporting government related news before it is usually spread by other news outlets.
Many supporters of Gasim Ibrahim gathered near Maafannuvilla following those reports. Among the people gathered include people who are not from any political parties.
They stated that Gasim Ibrahim is the “Gasim” of the people and they are very concerned at these reports.
