Jumhooree Party leader and Maamigili constituency MP Gasim Ibrahim has said that security of the nation lies at the hands of the members of the Peoples’ Majlis and there will be security in the land when the members provide it.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark speaking to the media at a time a lot of people were gathered near his house when Maldives Police Service revealed about a court warrant to search the residence of Gasim.
Gasim said that the Maldives is the nation of all Maldivians and the members should renew their resolve to make sure that Maldives is ruled by the constitution.
He said that the members should work to uphold the constitution regardless whether a certain party has the majority in the Majlis or not.
“I call all members to remember and renew their oath of office. We are elected to serve the people. We are here to be sincere,” he said.
Gasim said that the constitution of Maldives is praised by even foreign bodies because of the perfectness of how the powers of state are demarcated and how it grants the rights of all people.
