It is worrying that fuel surcharge is still charged although oil price went down- Ameen
Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has raised concern for the bills charging fuel surcharge by 43 percent while the oil price has gone down.

Ameen made this remark in a tweet he made on his official twitter account yesterday.

“Fuel surcharge: around 43% of total bill! Jp SG @meeraazu is right. Oil price went down but surcharge ...!!!! Pls...,” he tweeted.

Ameen also attached a screen shot of a copy of an Electricity Bill of STELCO to back his claims.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily, the Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party Ahmed Sameer said that it is a very happy news that STO decreased the oil price with the reduction of the price of oil in the international market. He said that he is happy that the people are benefiting from this price reduction.

However, he noted that it is worrying that the government is still charging the people with the fuel surcharge first taken during a time when the oil price spiked in the international market.
