A land plot has been allocated and handed over to the World Muslim League to build their center in Hulhumale’.
A ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the Islamic Center. Deputy Secretary General, Dr. Adil bin Ali signed the agreement on behalf of the organisation, while Deputy Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Mohamed Simon signed the agreement on behalf of HDC.
Speaking at the ceremony held on Monday, Minister of Islamic Affairs stated that it is great day for the country since no Islamic international organisation had opened a branch of themselves in the country yet. He also expressed his gratitude towards President Abdulla Yameen for providing such an opportunity.
During the ceremony, Mohamed Simon said that the role of WML in the construction of the building will be based on the discussions with the organization. He said that the construction of the mosque will be also decided following the discussions.
