Assistant General Secretary of the World Muslim League, Dr. Adil bin Ali has said that opening a WML center will be very good for Maldives.
Dr. Adil made this remark speaking at the ceremony held to hand over the land plot to build the center in Hulhumale’ to WML
He said that there are more than 45 centeres of the WML throughout the world. “The center will benefit Maldives in every way,” he said.
Dr. Adil revealed that the Secretary General of the WML will be visiting Maldives soon.
Meanwhile, during his meeting with President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom Dr. Adil bin Ali briefed President Yameen on the various programmes being conducted by the Muslim World League all over the world, in the areas of Islamic studies, study of the holy Quran, and the study of the life of Prophet Mohamed. He also enquired about the areas in which the organization could provide assistance to the Maldives.
Dr. Adil said that the Secretary General of the Muslim World League requested him to give special attention to the Maldives.
Adil said that the Muslim World League has always had close ties with the Maldives. He said that the Muslim World League and the Saudi Arabian government considers Maldives a good friend.
He said that the most important purpose of his visit to Maldives is to strengthen the ties between the Muslim World League and the Maldives and to open an office of the Muslim World League in Maldives in this regard.
“We want to strengthen our ties with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Maldives and expand our activities to spread the call of Islam,” he said.
The Muslim World League or Rabita from Arabic Rabita al-Alam al-Islami is a group of Islamic non-governmental organizations. One of the largest Islamic nongovernmental organizations, it has 36 satellite offices on five continents (including offices in New York, the District of Columbia, and London, as well as ten "external centers" in Europe, and ten "external offices" in Africa and the Middle East).
