Maldives Police Service has begun investigating Bank of Maldives’ deputy CEO Mohammed Shareef for giving false information to the financial committee of the parliament.
Police stated that they began investigating the matter but haven’t summoned Shareef for questioning yet.
Shareef was summoned to the parliament for questioning regarding MMPRC’s embezzlement. The MPs accused Shareef of lying to the parliament.
However Shareef said that the incorrect information was given by a mistake.
