Thoddoo constituency MP, Ibrahim Hassan has said that the people should directly benefit from the Green Tax that is to be introduced by the government.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily from Alif Alif Ukalhos, MP Ibrahim Hassan said that tax introduced on the claims to cover the expenses of fresh water supply, waste management system should be used only for those.
Ibrahim Hassan said that it is important to practically implement the development projects for the islands included in the state budget.
“I have reiterated these points during the budget debates. All the members of the Jumhooree Party made these points. Leader Gasim Ibrahim himself highlighted these points,” he said.
Ibrahim Hassan said that the government has so far been negligent in allocating anything for the development of the islands from the income generated by passing various bills in the Majlis.
“This should be not be the case. The government should resolve this issue immediately,” he said.
