Jumhooree Party candidate Abdulla Ahsan has the council seat of Baa Atoll Dhonfanu.
Ahsan got the seat without having to hold the bi-elections. He won the seat when the Elections Commission annulled the candidacy of his rival candidate from MDP for not submitting all the necessary documents.
Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer said that the Jumhooree Party candidate was certain of winning the seat of the council of Dhonfanu.
“The party teams held discussions with the people of the island. The islanders showed a lot of support so therefore we were certain we will win. We would have won even if the election was held with the will of Allah,” he said.
