A committee of the parliament meets heads of state owned enterprises

A committee of the parliament has met with the heads of state-owned enterprises last night.

Previously the oversight committee for SOEs was the financial committee of the parliament. However, the parliament made a new committee to oversee the state-owned enterprises.

Committee’s chair Ilyas Labeeb stated that the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the members of the committee to the heads of the state-owned companies. The committee has 13 members. He said that the committee will always be ready to assist the companies.

He said that they had to form a new committee because the financial committee is working very hard as there are a lot of pending works. He said that there are 700 audit reports which needs to be analyzed. Ilyas said that matters related to finances will still be investigated by the financial committee.
