Land erosion a big problem in Keyodhoo
People of Keyodhoo’s biggest problem has been the issue of land erosion which has remained unresolved for years.

Some islanders stated that that they do not want many projects to be conducted in the island however they want development. They all stated that the top priority should be given to resolve the issue of land erosion and develop the harbor.

“The islanders can live good if there is an island. Am I not right? Earlier we used to make our own harbor like fort to resolve the land erosion issue. However, today even if the people want there is nothing that we can do. There are too many studies and researches to be conducted,” he said.

Keyodhoo is a fishing island. There are many fishing boats and fishermen in the island.

Keyodhoo harbor is among the harbours destroyed during the Tsunami incident of 2004. The harbor today is almost non effective.

A person from Keyodhoo stated that there are many tourists visiting the island and staying in the island’s guesthouses.
