President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that the nation’s economy will boost when the people of Maldives get Maldivian jobs.
He made this remark while speaking at the graduation ceremony of “Dhasvaaru 2014”, vocational training programme conducted by the Ministry of Education.
The President said that the aim of the government is to provide job opportunities for Maldivians and not for foreigners. He said that this will bring remarkable improvement to the country’s economy.
President Yameen added that the employment opportunities in the Maldivian job market were created for Maldivians, and not for expatriate workers.
The President noted that the Government’s purpose for creating jobs for Maldivians, and conducting vocational training programmes was to shape the country’s youth in to a confident, keen, and skilled populace.
