Makunufhoo constituency MP Anara Naeem has said that the national welfare should be above political welfare.
Anara said that no one should cause enmity and hatred between people and everyone should love peace.
Although Anara did not reveal the reason for these statements, it is highly possible that she made this statements in view of the differences that occurred between the New Year Show organizers and the religious scholars who are speaking against the show.
A religious scholar who requested to keep him anonymous told Miadhu Daily that religious scholars will always publicise their view on different issues. He said that accepting or rejecting the statements of the scholars is a different matter.
“I also urge all not to cause friction and fitna regarding these issues. Just because of a difference of opinion we should not cause unrest and chaos in the society,” he said.
